JJ Classic Futurity with Breeders Incentive Fund

JJ Classic Rules

Negative coggins required for all horses.
Derby and Futurity Horses must submit copy of registration papers, front and back.
Unruly conduct of horse or rider will be cause for dismissal and forfeiture of all entries and winnings.
No Refunds for any reason.
Horse Substitutions are allowed see below for details.
Dress code – Contestants must wear western hat, boots, long sleeve western shirt, No Sweatshirts Violators - $10 fine.
Running out of draw order - Disqualification

Current nominated stallions in the JJ Classic Barrel Futurity and any off spring of those stallions are eligible for the breeder incentive fund for futurity horses. The incentive fund is an additional side pot of money for entries that are sired by JJ nominated stallions or the stallion. IIf a JJ Classic Breeders Incentive Fund Stallion dies, all his foals are still eligible for the JJ Classic Breeders Incentive Pot.

Futurity is open to horses 5 and under that have not competed prior to December 1 of year preceding futurity. Horse may only run once in a JJ Classic Barrel Futurity as a futurity horse (either as a 3, 4 or a 5 yr old) All futurity late entries will run at the end on Sat and first on Sun. (late entries accepted on site with $40 late fee until Saturday October 14th at 8:30 am)

Derby is open to any horse 7 yrs and under that is not eligible for the futurity barrel class. M ay compete in derby as long as eligible. Only current nominated stallions in the JJ Classic Barrel Futurity and any off spring of those stallions are eligible for the breeder incentive fund for derby horses. All derby late entries will run at the end on Sat and first on Sun. (late entries accepted on site with $40 late fee until Saturday October 14th at 8:30 am)

The Futurity and the Derby Pay outs will be paid out in a 2D Format. The Futurity will be a full second split and derby is a half second split. 2 Go’s and an average with each go paying 30% and 40% to the average. Awards are based on the average and are for the top placings overall.

$175 Total Derby Entry. Includes stall, office & 1 bag of shavings.

The first payment made will be considered the nomination. Nominations postmarked anytime after August 1, 2007 will be assessed a $10 late fee PER LATE PAYMENT. Once nomination is made, any sustaining payment RECIEVED after the dates identified above will also be assessed a late fee of $10 PER LATE PAYMENT. All payments must be RECEIVED on or before the 1st of the month in which they are due, regardless of a Sunday or a Holiday. CASH ENTRY FOR ALL LATE ENTRIES W/ $40 LATE FEE. NO EXCEPTIONS ON ANY RULES.

Derby / Futurity / Open Vet Release / Horse Substitution Rules / Rider Substitution Rules Substitution of horses due to injury, illness, death, or sale of nominated horse with a veterinarians affidavit will be allowed (with 48 hour notice prior to event) with a $40 fee. Substituted horse must meet eligibility requirements. Substitution of rider due to injury, illness, death, or sale of a nominated horse will be allowed (with 48 hour notice prior to event) with a $40 fee.

2D Futurity is Full Second split (i.e. 15.00, 16.00). The Derby is a 2D Half Second Splits (i.e. 15.00, 15.50)

The JJ Classic, United Barrel Racing Association, 1stClassWork.com and Verndale Arena are not responsible for any loss or damage that may occur to you, your horse, your tack and any of your family members or property. It is your responsibility to carry insurance on these things. It is impossible to cover in this list of rules every instance of every occurrence that we may have to deal with. Any all decisions on items not covered here will be decided by the management and decisions by the management are final.
